Located on the 8th floor of 1850 Towers Crescent Plaza, the primary goal of Venable LLP’s Tysons office was to establish a unique and distinctive office identity, deliberately setting it apart from the national brand. The new 23,756 SF Tysons office exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, strategically designed to enhance staff retention and recruitment. The use of warm woods and soft, indirect lighting throughout the space contribute to a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. A carefully curated color palette instills a sense of comfort, with “Venable Blue” serving as the accent color that ties the space together.

 

The reception area features a coffered wood ceiling, contributing to the inviting and homely atmosphere. The common areas were envisioned as multifunctional spaces, with the reception, library, and lunchroom seamlessly flowing into one another, creating a cohesive environment suitable for both entertainment and large gatherings. Directly adjacent to the lobby area, the library space was designed to mimic a cozy residential lounge, subdivided into two symmetrical sections to create separation and intimacy.

 

Committed to transparency and openness, all perimeter offices feature full glass fronts to infuse natural light throughout the space. This design choice ensures that all staff enjoy access to outdoor views and natural light, enhancing the workspace environment. To counteract the building’s unique semi-circular shape, the design team extended the carpet design from common corridors into the offices, creating the visual illusion of larger corridor widths and more expansive spaces.

 

Prioritizing the well-being of its occupants, the design integrates sit/stand desks, a dedicated wellness room, and even a treadmill for walking breaks. Abundant natural light from the perimeter windows and glass-front offices enhances the overall sense of wellness. As a nod to the office’s spirited staff shuffleboard tournaments, a customized shuffleboard table was incorporated into the staff lunchroom for team building and office morale.
