Langley School – New Middle School

McLean, Virginia

The new Middle School (Doris Earl Cottam Middle School at The Langley School) is located in the southwest area of the campus and will be constructed over the footprint of the existing Middle School buildings which will be demolished as part of this project. The new 27,000 SF building is a three-story building with one level partially below-grade. The Langley School desires to incorporate “green” components or LEED-based design elements, such as a partial green roof. The new Middle School is designed to fit with the existing campus features and architectural elements. The building includes 4 science labs, a rooftop learning center, large commons and project rooms in addition to traditional classrooms and administrative offices.
