DCS Design is leading the design effort for Alexandria Housing Development Corporation’s (AHDC) Arlandria project, a 475 affordable unit housing development in two buildings at the intersection of Mount Vernon and West Glebe Road. The project addresses affordable housing needs in the Arlandria-Chirilagua neighborhood by offering several affordable units at 40% of the area median income (AMI). A private, tranquil drive with lush landscape features runs between the two buildings, and the 10-story tower surrounds an open landscaped courtyard primarily programmed as a community gathering space. The project also includes 390 parking spaces. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2022-2023 and will be completed in multiple phases.
