Global immigration management law firm Erickson Immigration wanted to reflect their open and progressive culture in their new 15,000 SF law offices. Designers incorporated their strong brand and mission into the space and created an open multi-functional office. In the reception area, Davis Carter Scott (DCS Design) incorporated elements from the firm’s Brand Book, which included bright colors and vibrant imagery, paired with natural finishes and bold signage. The striking entrance features a sculptural reception desk in front of a glass-enclosed conference center with views of the National Mall serving as a backdrop.

Select colors and finishes are continued within the space to carry energy and branding throughout. The new layout adopts a nearly 100% open office concept including placing all attorneys in workstations—a unique approach for traditionally office-intensive law firms. To facilitate private conversations and a growing need for collaboration, the new program features an increase in smaller meeting rooms and open meeting spaces. Sliding acoustic panels allow for open meeting areas to be converted to semi-private areas. The staff kitchen was also created as a multi-functional space, incorporating multiple types of seating to enhance collaboration and provide staff with a variety of work areas. The kitchen also offers sweeping views of national monuments and National Cathedral in Washington D.C.
