DCS is proud of the recognition in INC. Magazine!
Last week, CustomInk's Headquarters was featured in INC. Magazine's "Companies with the Coolest Office Perks" in Washington DC! The design goal for the entire space was "Community," and creating a sense of connectedness between staff and their internal and external environment. Inspired by the premise of using the space to bring groups of people together, the design team created distinct "Neighborhoods" throughout the 70,000 square foot space. The entire three-floor office is designed as a street scape, featuring unique neighborhood areas such as parks, eateries, entertainment venues, and other social gathering places. Each neighborhood is then connected by a plank wood "Boulevard" which winds throughout the three floors and is anchored by two three-story spiral staircases.

Last Thursday’s MD / DC NAIOP Awards of Excellence Gala was a proud night for DCS Design as the winner of a top prize for White & Case, LLP. DCS took home the Award of Excellence for the 140,000 square foot in-place renovation project which included creating an international boutique hotel-like aesthetic. Other design goals included enhancing the firm’s brand, increasing connection and collaboration, and improving efficiencies.
One of the design highlights of the project is a two-story, back-lit onyx wall located in the reception lounge area. Imported from Italy in multiple individual slabs, the design team meticulously matched the veining of the individual pieces to create a visually unified sculpture.
DCS is proud to share this award with other valued team members including Jones Lang LaSalle, Davis Construction, and WFT Engineering.
DCS Design is the proud recipient of one of four prestigious awards given by CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) DC during the 2016 “Growing Excellence” Awards reception on October 6th. DCS won The Best Interiors Category for the recently completed ASTRO (American Society for Radiation Oncology), a 30,000 square foot non-profit organization located in Arlington, Virginia. The CREW Awards acknowledges excellence in the DC real estate community, with the Best Interiors award being the only design-focused recognition.
The goal of the new space was to create a timeless design reflecting ASTRO’s commitment to service, advocacy, and patient care. With members and visitors encompassing oncology physicians, researchers, and patients, it was important to create a sense of serenity and calm throughout the new space. The design features natural materials such as stacked stone and wood, as well as soft curves and unique, illuminated sculptural elements in the reception area created to evoke the molecular helix.
DCS is proud to share this award with other valued team members including Cushman & Wakefield, Bognet Construction, and KTA Group.
