Finnegan LLP, Washington, DC
An incredible seven-story glass-encased spiral staircase, a state-of-the art conference center, a sophisticated reception area, and a commercial kitchen dining facility are a few of the highlights of this 250,000 SF award-winning law firm project. Davis Carter Scott was both the basebuilding and interior architect for the project which proved critical during the stair design when the team modified the building’s structural design to accommodate the seven-story opening and relocated electrical and mechanical systems. The staircase has been praised as one of the most dramatic interior elements of any D.C. space, and has been featured in various publications and feature articles. Serpentine design themes, glass, natural light penetration, and bold color are design elements which define the space.
