Under the supervision of a project director, plan/design all phases of large scale multistory mixed use, office, residential, education (K-12) and institutional projects, including new construction, renovation, tenant improvement, parking garage, unit plans, and demolition/site preparation; Incorporate space planning and custom detailing into designs; translate clients’ function and spatial requirements for structures into feasible design solutions, incorporating structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; Utilize 2D/3D CAD and BIM (building information modeling) programs to develop design concepts and refine them into design solutions, producing design presentations for design and concept development for projects and competitions requiring expedited concept development and document production; Research local building codes and regulations and ensure compliance, barrier free compliance, specification and project research for the integration of sustainable concepts into projects, incorporate LEED sustainable design principles and prepare LEED documentation; Develop and produce construction documentation, participate in meetings, coordinate with consultants to incorporate building systems into unified design for approvals and construction documents production using Revit to prepare plans, elevations, sections and details; Assist with proposal preparation, answering RFIs, bidding (including contractor qualification), bid document preparation, bid evaluation and contract negotiation; and Provide full Construction Administration services. Master’s degree in Architecture. Knowledge of and/or experience in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D Studio Max, SketchUp, Photoshop, and preparing presentations by building models and freehand sketching with markers, ink and pencils. Knowledge of and/or Experience in senior living, educational (K-12), residential, and institutional buildings including new construction and renovation. Must be licensed in MD/VA. Must be LEED accredited.
