Davis Carter Scott-designed "Best Place to Work" LMO Advertising spotlighted by AED's new video series Arlington Awesome Offices
Davis Carter Scott is very excited to see our client LMO Advertising be featured in Arlington Economic Development's new video series, Arlington Awesome Offices. Produced by the Arlington Real Estate Group (AREG) and hosted by Jessica Miller, Co-Chair of AREG, the video highlights how LMO underwent a complete culture change, moving from a closed, employee-isolating work environment to a highly energetic, open, collaborative one.
Also, DCS-designed LMO Advertising was named one of Greater Washington's "2014 Best Places to Work" by the Washington Business Journal. LMO employees nominated the company and answered detailed survey questions regarding why they believe they work for "The Best Place" in the Washington DC area. WBJ recognizes companies in small, medium and large business categories.
Fairfax County honored Davis Carter Scott with their 2014 Environmental Excellence Award in the Business category. The Environmental Excellence Awards recognize County residents, organizations, businesses and County employees who are dedicated to sustainability and support County environmental initiatives. The accolade recognizes Davis Carter Scott’s dedication to creating new buildings, spaces and places that are exemplars of sustainable practice; upgrading existing buildings to higher levels of performance; designing healthy spaces in which people live and work; and creating green communities that lie easy on the earth.
In selecting DCS Design for the award, Linda Burchfiel, an At-Large member of the Environmental Quality Advisory Council, cited over four decades of sustainable design, community and industry outreach through an annual GreenWeek Symposium, and ongoing participation in County led efforts such as Chairman Bulova’s Private Sector Energy Task Force as key contributions recognized by the Advisory Council.
Utilizing an integrated team-oriented project approach, DCS has worked closely with leading developers, building owners, consultants, general contractors and County staff to design over 13 Million square feet of space designed for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDTM) certification. Spaces include Offices, Civic Buildings, Multi-Family Housing, and Education Facilities.
Two projects designed by Davis Carter Scott and constructed by HITT Contracting received Excellence in Constructing Awards from the American Builders and Contractors Metro Washington Chapter. The Annual event which recognizes and celebrates outstanding projects built by Washington-area ABC members selected The Lyric (440 K Street) for an Award of Excellence and The Brady Campaign for Honorable Mention.
